WordSmith Studios began in 2016 as Grace Street Writing & Editing, a small creative practice helping storytellers strengthen their work. As more creators joined our community, it became clear that writers needed more than feedback. They needed structure, mentorship, and a path forward. That led to The WordSmith Writer's Lab, where writers developed stronger stories through professional support and repeatable creative frameworks.
But we realized something important: Great stories are not complete when the writing is done. They need systems, pathways, and support to reach the world.
This understanding sparked the Flip the Script Film Fellowship, an immersive filmmaking experience that trained hundreds of emerging creatives. Fellows wrote, directed, and produced films that earned festival recognition and opened doors they never imagined.
These programs—and the frameworks behind them—became the foundation for everything we do today.
CineSparq is the evolution of WordSmith Studios. It is not a rebrand. It is the expansion of a mission that began years ago.

Eunice Smith-Shelley is the visionary behind WordSmith Studios and CineSparq. With more than 30 years of experience in leadership, operations, and systems design, she brings a rare blend of creativity and structure to the industry.
She founded WordSmith Studios to provide storytellers with frameworks that strengthen their craft and build confidence. Through Flip the Script, she has trained hundreds of emerging filmmakers and produced award-winning films that transformed lives and careers.
CineSparq represents the next step in her mission to align creativity, opportunity, and industry insight.

Flip The Script began as both a challenge to emerging filmmakers and a response to how often they were being passed over. We kept seeing the same three gaps—education, access to resources, and pathways to opportunities—and we believed there had to be a better way.
So Eunice created and funded Flip The Script, a rapid film development program built to show what happens when creators finally get the support they need. And it worked.
Alumni went on to produce new projects, earn competitive fellowships and film school scholarships, land roles within major studio systems, secure sales representation, and continue building on the foundation they gained in just six weeks.
Over time, Flip The Script trained more than 100 creatives across the full filmmaking pipeline—writing, directing, and the essential below-the-line roles like grip, gaffer, camera operation, and sound. We also taught post-production, marketing, and audience building to help emerging storytellers carry their work further.
Flip The Script was the spark that showed us what was possible—and helped pave the way for CineSparq.
